Pinot Noir. Esk Valley, Marlborough. New Zealand.
Pinot Noir. Esk Valley, Marlborough. New Zealand.
An elegant and complex wine with aromas of red fruits and cherry flavours. There is a subtle light oakiness that enhances the flavours, hints of ripe plums and spice on the finish. Great with grilled and roasted white meats, pizza or pasta.
Esk Valley is a boutique winery, situated in the north of New Zealand’s picturesque Hawkes Bay region. The winery sources fruit from the major wine regions of New Zealand, including Marlborough and the Gimblett Gravels which consistently produce grapes of an extremely high quality. Esk Valley’s history can be traced back to 1933 when Englishman Robert Bird first planted vines in Bay View and established Glenvale Winery. It was from these historic cellars that Esk Valley emerged in 1988 and quickly became one of the great and pioneering names of New Zealand wine. Today it is led by veteran winemaker Gordon Russell who is renowned for hand-crafted premium reds and elegant whites.
